CARE GREEN BOOK
The Green Book of Responsible Consumption in Europe synthesizes all the knowledge developed in the CARE project, being the main product of CARE Knowledge, the virtual knowledge and experience community on responsible consumption. The Green Book analyses the concept of socially responsible consumption and its impact on economic, social, and environmental sustainability. It presents the results of a theoretical research with a bibliometric analysis that shows the increasing importance in the academia.
On the empirical level, it presents and analyses the results of a consumer survey conducted in the project countries, investigating consumer attitudes and behaviour. It also analyses policies to promote responsible consumption, public and private campaigns and actions, identified experiences and best practices, and offers a synthesis of recommendations to encourage responsible consumption from both public and private sectors in the four areas of consumption addressed in CARE: food, mobility, clothing, and resource use.
